It’s Not Simple
Incredible conversation with Kim! Through our conversation we discussed many of the different aspects of a persons healing journey.
One thing in particular stands out as a good starting point and that is Kim’s comparing the peeling of an onion with a plate of spaghetti.
Kim mentions that a common analogy used to describe the healing process the peeling of an onion just makes the process seem to clean and simple. She said the mess looks a lot more like a plate of spaghetti noodles: each persons issues stuck together overlapping in an out of each other.
“So my new picture, my mission now is that picture that metaphor. Just picture a plate of spaghetti noodles, you know… they stick together, they’re all mushed together and that really is more what the healing journey is like” – Kim
Dumpster Diving!
Kim brought up that people really shouldn’t go dumpster diving alone. (digging around in their own problems trying to fix themselves)
A better approach is waiting for the Holy Spirit to lead you to a specific problem to work on.
“I also encourage people is never go dumpster diving by yourself. Don’t do it. Do not try this at home. Do not go dumpster diving. Allow the Holy Spirit allow Jesus to show you” – Kim
God Invited Kim on a Journey
Some time after Kim came to Christ in 1987. Jesus gave Kim a short vision of Him and her dancing together in a Ballroom.
This momentary vision in her imagination set her on a journey toward how Jesus saw her and gave direction toward who she wanted to be.
“But the thing that I felt in my being, and what I saw in this vision in my imagination, was that as the woman that is who God created me to be, it was just this, literally, that imagination vision was 45 seconds or a minute. But in that, I knew that I knew that I knew that that was the woman God created me to be. And that’s the one that I wanted to be” – Kim
Kansas City Healing Scene
“I can’t imagine a city that has more resources available. I honestly cannot. Over the years, I’ve met so many, you know, just incredible leaders of parachurch ministries. The resources are rich and they are resources who’ve been doing this for a long time.” – Kim
From para church ministries, and in church ministries, to biblical counselors and therapist – Kansas City could be called a one stop shop for all your healing needs.
I was really excited to be able to hear from Kim the depth of mature healing ministries focused on inner healing and related needs in Kansas City!
” So it’s amazing to me the fact that we’ve got multiple ministries saying, Hey, we need a one stop shop, because there’s so much out there. Yeah, that in itself tells you we have a lot. We really have a lot. So that’s, that’s exciting!” – Kim
We spoke for a while about this subject, it really was on both of our hearts, its so exciting. Be sure to listen to the podcast to hear more about the Kansas City Healing Scene!
